Exercise Twenty-Nine

Contemplation on "What Am I"?

In exercise thirteen we introduced contemplation as a focus. We explained that contemplation is about holding to a thought or idea while asking for its meaning and at the same time refraining from coming to a conclusion. When we contemplate our mind stays open and flexible. When we contemplate we open to the Higher answers. When we contemplate, intuitive leaps seem to become easier we can make intuitive leaps into non-linear reality.

EXERCISE

Dr. Hawkins suggests we focus and contemplate on "the Eye of the I" or "What am I?" as does the A Course In Miracles. Ramana Maharshi urges us to focus on the question, "Who am I?" and Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj directs us to continuously focus on the sense of "I AM-ness" They all conclude that this intention will release our small self from linear reality and move us to an Enlightened state of freedom.

Ask that you be aligned with Divine Will (850) [see Dr. Hawkins map of consciousness]. This practice ensures we do not rely on our personal will.

In this contemplative exercise, you are asked to focus unwaveringly on the question "What am I?"
