Recontextualizing
Exercise 5 and 6 were foundational exercises in re-contextualizing our lives.
Excerpt from Exercise 5: "Re-contextualizing is a most powerful tool. And although it seems new, the experience of having something placed in a different context is one we all know. It occurs automatically when we have forgiven our self or let go of our judgments of another.
Putting any life-event in a spiritual context is a fundamental practice. By using it constantly, every person and situation is seen as an opportunity to remove the blocks to Love. When you realize that a circumstance, or a thought about a circumstance, leads us to express or feel judgment - either minor or major judgment - its applicability becomes self evident. While re-contextualizing is fairly simple to execute, it is the practice and use of it that makes it potent."
If you have been using re-contextualizing, you know that doing so re-aligns your focus to your desired aligned state. It shifts your paradigm and you automatically move from the content to the context of a situation.
Re-contextualizing really works effectively when combined with unwavering intention. For example, being stuck in envy about something or someone when our radically aligned intention is to be in the field of Peace, allow us to make a new choice gracefully.
Re-contextualization is also a most effective practice when new information, such as that which Dr. Hawkins shares with us, is taken into our consciousness. With the information, for example, that we choose our birth parents, siblings, birth country, birth body and so forth, we move out of the field of victim hood.
Putting an event into a spiritual context, such as all happenings are for the good, aligns us with the miraculous power of the higher fields. [see Dr. Hawkins map of consciousness] Re-contextualizing offers an opportunity to disentangle our self from the emotionally sticky web of content - the details of life - so that we can focus on our devotion to spirit.
May this be for the Highest Good.
In Exercise five, you considered re-contextualizing the circumstances of your birth. You re-contextualized these events as ideal for your spiritual growth. You then looked at the impact of changing your point of view.
This week we re-visit this practice and become even more specific.
You are looking for areas in which you are consciously or unconsciously hiding blocks to being able to stay in the higher fields. When you re-contextualize, the event (content) often becomes a "So what?" moment. We may then see that we are wanting, needing, fighting with the past and the 'what is' of a situation or person. We can then choose and decide that no matter what the events are, we want to align with our spiritual intention. We decide to choose Peace. In this state of mind, the higher states of consciousness automatically become the most advantageous and powerful states. You simply choose to let go of your 'should have, would have, could have, and if only, and ask to see the truth of the situation and ask a Higher Power for healing or a miracle. What you need to consider is surrendering your position about the past and re-contextualizing the event.
Example: Let us say that your parent(s) let you know that you were foolish to follow your dreams of being a musician. You were ridiculed, told it was impractical. They overtly or covertly rejected your attempts to succeed in this field.
Using this example lets re-contextualize the situation.
As with all spiritual practice, loving the truth for its own sake is essential. Re-contextualization assists in deepening your love of the truth. It helps you to let go of rigid opinion and stances. It assists in deepening the capacity for surrender.
